My Experience & Training
I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology & Art, a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy. I have also undertaken additional training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), further developing my understanding of attachment, relationships, and trauma-informed practice. I undertake regular ongoing professional development and training.
Over the years, I've been fortunate to support children and families in a wide range of settings. My experience includes working as a school cluster-based play therapist, providing therapeutic support through services including Victim Support and the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund, working as a counselling case manager within a digital therapy service, supporting children through the charity sector, and establishing my own private practice.
No two people are the same, and I believe therapy should reflect that. Every child brings their own strengths, experiences, interests, and way of communicating. My role is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where they feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace, using play, creativity, and curiosity as the foundation for growth and healing.
Outside the therapy room, I love writing stories and creating resources that help children understand themselves and their emotions. What began as a creative hobby has grown into the Emotions at Play series of therapeutic storybooks, bringing together my love of storytelling and my professional experience to support families beyond the therapy room.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), hold full professional insurance, and engage in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development to ensure my practice remains safe, ethical, and up to date.
Whether you're looking for therapeutic support for your child or simply exploring your options, I'd be delighted to have a conversation and answer any questions you may have.
